Job Title: Operations Manager – Trade Waste Collections
Location: Avonmouth, Bristol
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 DOE
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with Saturday and Bank Holiday shifts on a rota or as required basis.

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager for our newly established Avonmouth trade waste collections depot. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for career growth as the depot develops and strengthens its commercial presence in the region. As Operations Manager, you will be part of a dedicated and committed team, responsible for managing daily operations at the depot.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing vehicle management, staffing, operational performance, route efficiency, route planning, and customer service levels to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring optimal service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Oversee vehicle management, staff scheduling, and route planning to maximise efficiency.
- Maintain high levels of customer service and address any operational challenges that arise.
- Monitor and improve operational performance, ensuring deadlines and service targets are met.
- Collaborate with the depot team to ensure smooth communication and effective problem-solving.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations and ensure all safety procedures are followed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in staff management and operations, ideally within the waste management or transport industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn specialised software for route planning and customer service.
- Previous experience working with HGV transport operations is desirable.
- Knowledge of waste management legislation is advantageous.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel for meetings, training, and site visits is essential.
