Warehouse Lead - Biggleswade
Salary: £31,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off
Location: Biggleswade
About the Role:
We are seeking a Warehouse Lead for our client in Biggleswade. These are fantastic opportunities for individuals with proven leadership skills to join a growing and dynamic team. As a Warehouse Lead, you will take charge of a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring all daily tasks are completed efficiently and safely. A forklift licence is desirable, though not a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of warehouse operatives on a day-to-day basis
Ensure the smooth operation of all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and dispatching products
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and cleanliness
Assist with stock control, order picking, and stocktaking
Train and mentor new employees
Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to improve operational efficiency
Managing and improving health and safety standards
Control of order picking and despatching orders with attention to detail to fulfil in full
Effective control of trailer bays, ensuring continuity of loading/unloading in line with daily schedules
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred
Forklift licence is desirable but not essential
Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate others
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
A proactive attitude and the ability to encourage change and deliver results
